Precautions for heating of heat transfer oil and use of Teflon lined kettle

Strictly control the oil temperature of the heat transfer oil ≤ 230 ℃, otherwise the service life of the tetrafluorocarbon anticorrosive material will be affected; Due to the poor thermal conductivity of PTFE materials. The initial temperature can be set at 200 ℃ . When the temperature in the kettle is close to the target temperature (< 150 ℃), the jacket oil temperature can be adjusted properly. The set temperature is 20 ℃ - 50 ℃ higher than the target temperature in the test to maintain the temperature stability in the kettle;

Precautions for heating of heat transfer oil and use of Teflon lined kettle 

  1. Add heat transfer oil
  • If its jacketed kettle, stop refueling when the overflow pipe flows out.
  • If the kettle is of oil bath type, add oil until the heating pipe is flooded.
  1. Heating
  • Then heating, please put a container under the overflow pipe, because the heat transfer oil will expand when heating, and the overflow part of the oil will come out, Use containers to prevent environmental pollution.
  • After the test, the oil overflowing from the container shall be poured back into the jacket or oil bath to prevent the oil level from being lower than the top of the heating pipe, and the heating pipe shall be burnt out. In addition, the oil level shall be checked regularly.

 

 

PTFE REACTOR

The jacket oil temperature that needs to be set may be different due to different reaction systems, and users need to adjust it according to experience;

 

As the temperature measuring tube inside the kettle is also coated with PTFE, there may be a certain lag error between the measured temperature and the actual temperature inside the kettle.

 

 

Suggestions

  • When the customer heats up, control the oil temperature to achieve the purpose of controlling the temperature in the kettle. Generally, the oil temperature is 10 ℃ - 20 ℃ higher than that in the kettle . The specific temperature difference needs to be adjusted by the user according to the reaction conditions of the reaction system and experience.
  • Pure synthetic heat transfer oil is used as heat transfer oil.

 

※ attention ※: the surface of the electric heating pipe needs to be cleaned once every three months to prevent the reduction of heat transfer efficiency and burn off the resistance wire in the heating pipe
