    Straight Flat Blade Disc Rushton Turbine impeller agitator is also called rushton turbines, has 6 flat vertical blades, which is a commoly used type of radial pumping impeller. They have a horizontal support plate to which are attached several (usually six)perpendicular rectangular blades arranged symmetrically around the circumference. Rushton turbines is maily used for gassing applications. Disadvantages are their relatively low flooding limit as well as a high performance drop under gassing conditions. The actural mixing effect of this impeller lies primarily in the shear zone of the radial outflow.
    Rushton turbines should not be used for solid-liquid mixing applications because radial flow turbines do not suspend solids to obtain the least power input. However, in three-phase reactors with high gas duty cycle and solid suspension requirements, gas dispersion requirements are more critical to process success, and Rushton turbines must be used. In this case, the success of the process determines the design of the stirrer, and the power input does not consider factors when determining the best impeller-mixer configuration.
